A large and elaborate bug hotel was built with the help of many youngsters. Lets hope that all rooms are occupied soon!

We have three garden sites managed by our group ( bottom of Granville Rd, Bat and Ball Station, bus station Sevenoaks and one currently undergoing a make-over at South Park car park). We appreciate all help, especially in the Spring and Autumn!
Sevenoaks gained a silver gilt award in the Southeast in Bloom award with Granville Road and Sevenoaks Bus Station being on the judging route. The competition is run by Coolings alongside the RHS South East in bloom in addition, Granville Road came in 2nd place in Coolings ‘Environmental Community Award in both Sevenoaks Town and Sevenoaks District award. The bus station came 3rd in both. Finally,both beds were awarded Silver in the KWT Wild about Gardens awards 2015 event.
Young people aged 14-25 years may be interested in a chance to take part in a 12 week programme funded by the Big Lottery. building on the successful GROW TO GROW project at Commonwork, Bore Place. The programme provides the opportunity to learn new skill, build confidence and gain work experience on the farm and gardens at Bore Place. Run by experienced garden and youth work staff participants will be well supported and will be able to gain a reference for CVs and advice for the next step.

SOLL members have organised a working party on the Granville Road flower bed on Saturday 5th September at 10am. Parking is free for 2 hours on Granville Rd. If you can spare an hour or two to help tidy up the bed your help would be very much appreciated. Please bring your own tools- a fork and trowel are the most useful!
